"And with the attention, of course, must be all the love you can give, especially in the first twelve or thirteen years. Then, when the kids start doing strange things under the guise of independence, they will always know that they are loved and that the lines are always open for them to send a message back to earth.

"You see, you can't wash your hands of them. You have to keep those hands dirty with the kids you love.
