Equilibrium restored through prayer

When I woke one morning, the whole room seemed to be spinning out of control. The only way I could get from place to place was to crawl, with my eyes closed. After a period of apathy, in which I thought if I could just hold on long enough, it would go away, I took Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy to a quiet place to study. I found this: "Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, 'Thus, far and no farther' " (p. 124). In looking up the definition for that interesting word equipoise, I found "perfect balance."

I claimed my freedom through this line of reasoning: If I reflect that divine creative Principle or "thought force"—and I do, as a spiritual idea of God—then I have perfect balance also.
