A LOVE I WOULDN'T TRADE—NOT EVEN FOR TWO DOZEN ROSES

Through my kitchen window, I saw a huge bouquet of roses, tied with red ribbons, on my neighbors' doorstep. I sighed and wished my husband were the type who would walk in and sweep me off my feet with even one rose!

When my husband came home that night, I told him about the roses. He looked at me in utter amazement. "Roses! What do you want red roses for? You know I love you!" His stunned and puzzled expression made me laugh. A conventional romantic is one thing my husband isn't. But he is definitely the best gift God has given me.

Looking back over our life together, I began to count the many blessings resulting from our marriage. I couldn't possibly gauge the depth of our love for each other by any material object. Nor could I locate the source of that love in any personal characteristics we possess or in some aspect of personal interaction with each other.
