Throw off those old garments

How I threw off pain

One thing people have always wanted to find is a reliable method of healing. I've found that Christian healing, as practiced by Jesus, is just such a method.

I first felt this healing power some years back. While returning home from school, I experienced severe pain in all parts of my body, but I didn't have the money to pay for medical treatment.

I'd been doing some Bible study, and I remembered the account of Bartimaeus, who was blind (see Mark 10:46-52). This man sat begging each day by the roadside. When he found out that Jesus would be walking right by him, Bartimaeus longed for the Master to heal him. When Jesus was near, Bartimaeus cried out to him. Then when the people told him that Jesus wanted to meet him, Bartimaeus yanked off his old coat, flung it aside, and came to Jesus, who at once healed him. This story made a tremendous impression on me. I turned to God in prayer and no longer felt any trace of pain.
