I am grateful for class instruction in Christian Science, which has given me a firm understanding of God and of my oneness with Him. The truth and lessons I have learned from my study of the Bible and Science and Health, and my love for the Christ, Truth, will ever be my guiding star of healing. They have given me a higher spiritual understanding.

In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy tells us, "Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength" (p. 183). I had the opportunity to prove this. Some time ago, as I was mopping the floor of the church, I slipped and fell very hard. The first thought that came to me was "the scientific statement of being," from Science and Health. The first line says, "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter" (p. 468). I just lay there for a few minutes pondering the entire statement.

When I got up, I found that my foot was quite painful. It seemed to be out of joint. Later in the day I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked him to pray for me. I took Science and Health and began to study and to ponder what I was reading. I knew my answer was in communion with God. I was convinced that Christian Science heals, and my desire was to be obedient to God's direction. My faith in God gave me an active reliance on Him for healing.
