YOUR LETTERS
"... when these two fellows took a stand for their own personal purity ... they were also taking a stand for all mankind."
Both articles on resisting sensuality (February 14) were well-written, bold, and brave. This is a tough topic but one that is essential to the spiritual growth of men and women. One thing I would add. After reading the two articles one may ask, "So, what's the big deal? Two consenting adults ... who is hurt?"
Actually, sensualism itself not only ultimately hurts the individual who participates in it, but it has dire consequences for all of society. Sensualism would erase purity, health, and love in the participant. When these essential qualities are lost sight of, the individual (and society) is confronted with opposite qualities such as fear, injustice, violence, sickness, hate, selfishness.
So, when these two fellows took a stand for their own personal purity (and shared it with us), they were also taking a stand for all mankind. Thanks, Joel and Bobby!
