Prayer restores broken bone
Whilst we were bringing up a family of three children, challenges of low income, relationship difficulties, and illness were all met through what we understood of the teachings of Christian Science.
In March 1998 I fell and appeared to have broken a bone in my leg. I could not stand or walk. I had no interest in having an X–ray to determine how or where the leg was broken, because I trusted God to heal me. I understood that, in truth, my whole being is spiritual. I prayed consistently with the ideas in Science and Health, particularly the answer to the question "What is man?" The opening reads:"Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God" (p. 475).
A Christian Science practitioner prayed for me and patiently turned my thought away from the accident to the truth of perfect man, created in God's image and likeness, unfallen and free.
