Star of wonder
Perhaps the shepherds saw it first,
Those faithful, humble seekers for the light.
When in a dark blue sky the symbol burst,
And angels heralded the heavenly sight—
"Fear not!" they sang in joyful strains.
The wisemen took their journey far
In pathway of the glowing star.
They looked not back, but toward the place
Where lay the Christ-idea they would embrace.
Here and now we find that crystal star.
We need not travel distances far,
For in us all the Christ light glows,
An angel message sings and flows,
And fills the heart and mind with Christmas grace.
