Our son was in the senior class in recreation at San Jose State University in San Jose, California. The first day of the semester, the professor announced that the students would need to locate a place for the spring semester where they could serve as interns in sports recreation. Laird would be teaching golf.
Our whole family, including my son, decided to turn to God in prayer for guidance on how he should proceed. We had learned that God's law of good always guides and supports His children, and that by listening to God, to the spiritual intuitions that come to us from Him, we'd be able to find a place where Laird could fulfill the course requirement.
Shortly afterward, he met with the recreation leaders from the Army base near our home. After a series of interviews lasting about a month, the Army hired him to be on the recreation staff for the spring semester. In fact he was one of the first students in his class to find a place.
