No more Christmas blues
For a number of years I suffered from a feeling of deep depression and isolation just before and during the Christmas holidays. I dreaded seeing the decorations go up.
I had prayed for myself off and on. But several years ago I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me in dealing with this problem. One day I was reading the book of John in the Bible, and came to the part that tells about Jesus healing a man who was lying by a pool (see 5:1-17). This man had been incapacitated for 38 years and was waiting for the water in the pool to be agitated. This was supposed to signal that the next person who stepped into the pool would be healed.
