YOUR LETTERS

I'm active in four ecumenical faith-based groups. At several meetings I read two "Items of Interest" from the issue of October 9. The first one encouraged the use of the word spirituality rather than religion in daily conversation, and the other spoke of faith-based solutions to community problems. Yesterday, a Methodist minister told me that he was so inspired by these comments that he had used them in his last sermon.

I've appreciated the timely Sentinel articles that have helped readers bring a spiritual perspective to voting and elections. The theme of several recent articles, "keep praying," has been especially pertinent in light of the unusual and unsettling circumstances which followed the United States presidential election. I found comfort in a statement from Maryl F. Walters' article (November 13) "After an election—Don't stop praying!" The author wrote, "God is in control before and after an election!"
