Books about Jesus are "selling like crazy," says Debra Farrington, marketing director for Morehouse Publishing. Other publishers are also reporting increased interest in Jesus, stimulated to some extent by television specials about his life.

New books that will be appearing in the coming months are geared to a more general audience, but they don't shy away from primary-source information. And that's right in line with public demand.

"People are fascinated by the fact that maybe there are other stories about people who were raised from the dead," reports Henry Carrigan, editorial director of Trinity Press International. "But rather than wanting to read about those stories, they want to read them for themselves."
