MIDEAST PEACE: a reporter's view
Some insights on what's at the heart of the issue.
Because of the ongoing need for prayer about tensions in the Middle East, the Sentinel is publishing an interview with Cameron Barr, adapted from the Christian Science Sentinel—Radio Edition. Cameron is one of the reporters covering the Middle East for The Christian Science Monitor. He has also reported for the Monitor from a dozen Asian countries.
Cameron, What do you think are the issues that need to be addressed in the Middle East?
I think, in a larger sense, the problem is that people see the resources as being too finite. You know, this is partly a dispute over land, and whether there's enough land for the Palestinians and enough land for the Israelis. It's also a dispute about some very tangible but symbolic things.
