No more depression
My interest in and study of Christian Science began in 1974, after a customer of mine invited me to a church service. Although I was a very active member of another religious denomination, I had felt for a long time that God was far from me. I also had suffered for several years from chronic depression, and had been told by physicians that to control the situation I would be drug-dependent for the rest of my life.
I had wondered for some time about the validity of that prediction. Deep down I wanted to clarify my thinking about God, His universe, and my place in it. I questioned whether God would create someone to be drug-dependent. I yearned for a clearer concept of God.
