Rapid healing of burns

In removing a pan from my oven, I touched it with my bare hand, and felt pain immediately.

Right away I began to pray, using the spiritual understanding that has sustained me in many instances. I knew that because God, or Spirit, is All, and we are made in His likeness, nothing material could harm me. Therefore, I refused to accept the thought "I burned myself!" I refused even to consider any thought that I had been hurt, that there would be discomfort, that there might be a scar. All of this happened very quickly, and I was soon about my normal activities, even washing the dishes. I didn't think any more about the incident.

Two days later I noticed that I couldn't find a mark anywhere on my hand. Because this healing was so rapid, I considered it to be insignificant until I began to think about what had actually taken place in my thinking. I saw that my persisting in the truth was exercising spiritual courage and authority. And I recalled how my thought had lifted, giving me a new sense of self-control and peace. I had felt like a warrior who had just won a battle; the battle, however, was a mental one. I had come away unscathed. I had not deviated from claiming as true for myself only what God was knowing to be true, and increased spiritual strength and inspiration were my reward.
