It's a long-awaited day in Window Rock, Arizona, site of the launching of the new revised Navajo Bible on June 20, 2000. A parade of Navajo floats has threaded its way through the village, the American Bible Society banner is mounted at the local sports arena, the music has begun, and an eager crowd has gathered for the dedication ceremony.
There's only one problem: the Bibles haven't arrived yet. Overnight delivery from the publisher was promised. But, minutes before the ceremony ... no Bibles.
Then, the missionary's cell phone rings. "They're here! They're here!" he calls out. And shouts and dancing break out all over the arena.
