Listening to God isn't just for people who lived in Bible times
Almost 3,000 years after Samuel, a little girl named Mary, who lived in the United States, listened to God just like Samuel.
Throughout the year when she was about eight years old, Mary often heard her name called three times in a row. Mary thought her mother, Abigail, was calling her, and she would go and ask her what she wanted. Mary's mother would say that she hadn't called her. Then Mary would ask, "Who did call me?"
Neither of them knew.
