Enjoy the Bible
And the Bible will help you enjoy life.
A woman stopped me in the department store. She wanted to know what makes me so joyful. She said she'd been noticing me around the neighborhood. I hoped I hadn't been walking around with a silly grin on my face! Yet, I had to admit I am really happy.
My life isn't unusual. Things are certainly better at some times than others. And serious problems do come up. Yet, in recent years, my happiness hasn't fluctuated a whole lot. Like one of my grandson's toys that pops right back up when it gets knocked down. Sometimes I can even reach genuine peace right in the middle of a problem that would have terrorized me earlier.
This equanimity is the result of joyful exploration of the Bible. Clearly, some people live in a more comfortable world than others do. But I've come to realize that happiness is actually a function of your plane of consciousness, of how clear you are that only good is real. We each determine the perspective, or basis, from which we live. We're in the driver's seat once we understand this.
