To Our Readers

Humanity's Interest In spirituality is measurable in the usual statistical ways. Sales of books and magazines on the subject; the size of viewing audiences of television programs dealing with spiritual things; attendance figures at spirituality seminars, rallies, workshops, and at church services, synagogues, and mosques throughout the world. In years past, we've published in the Sentinel some of the many charts and surveys that illustrate the growing interest in spirituality. Put all the statistics together, and you have an impressive story to tell about the movement.

But the heart of the story isn't really in the numbers. It's in the individual lives of spiritual seekers everywhere, from all walks of life.

A South African who is a Christian Scientist, a Sikh from India, a Protestant from Norway, a Jewish poet from the U.S., a bishop from Uruguay, an actress from Argentina, and the Editor of the Christian Science magazines were among those interviewed by our sister publication The Herald of Christian Science. Excerpts from some of those interviews compose this week's diverse and insightful Cover Story titled "Humanity's spiritual quest."
