Earlier this year, a reporter for the Religion News Service visited The Christian Science Publishing Society and other offices of the Church of Christ, Scientist, here in Boston. The resulting story went out on wire services to newspapers around the United States. The article opened with a look at the 1998 redesign of the Sentinel. It then made a connection between the "new" Sentinel and what the reporter saw as "a spiritual renewal for the denomination, which is reaching back to its founding principles" in responding to the growing spiritual hunger in society today.
The news report was headlined "Christian Science looks to its roots to fashion future for new millennium" (Holly J. Lebowitz, Religion News Service, May 1999).
