YOUR LETTERS

"I have found that my spirituality is not an end but a means... for helping to bring about the spiritualization of humanity."

I am grateful for the "Items of Interest" section. It has helped me see that humanity is yearning for spirituality, and thereby helps me feel less ridiculous in sharing this great truth. I am able to see how selfish I would be to know what I know and not share it with humanity, which is asking and even praying for spirituality.

For many years I did behind Mary Baker Eddy's words "At present mortals progress slowly for fear of being thought ridiculous" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 68). Without a spiritual understanding of myself or the passage, I felt justified in not sharing this truth if I was timid or felt embrassed doing so. During that time my progress was indeed slow or even non-existent.

A few years ago I felt a need for growth—a deep, heartfelt desire for more spirituality. I made a conscious decision to direct my every thought toward that end. I began by rereading Science and Health. I have found that my spirituality is not an end but a means, the means for helping to bring about the spiritualization of humanity.
