Woman's hour
Progress toward God-given rights
Last November, the sixtieth anniversary conference of the National Order of Women Legislators was held in Charleston, South Carolina. It honored federal and state women lawmakers' strong commitment to public service.
One of the keynote speakers was Virginia S. Harris, C.S.B., Chairman of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Here are excerpts from her talk:
This past July, I had the great privilege of being in Seneca Falls, New York, to speak at a forum on women and religious leadership, and to attend the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the first Woman's Rights Convention, which was held there in July 1848.
