Prayer heals wounds
Translated from French One night about four in the morning, I heard the sounds of a violent storm in the distance. Lightning tore through the sky and thunderclaps roared. Disturbed by all the racket, I thought again about the command Jesus gave the tempest, "Peace, be still." The book of Mark tells us the result: "And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm" (4:39). What authority! We can all feel this calm, even in the middle of tumult. This calm speaks to us of God's presence and power, and it brought to mind a healing I had.
I stood firm, clinging to these truths. It was a stand full of strength, but also of calm.
