Watching the world from a spiritual perspective
items of interest
Churches often assume that members of the local community will know they are welcome to come to their public services. But sometimes that assumption isn't enough. Mailings, magazine inserts, banners outside the church, and even advertisements at local cinemas are some of the ways Ginter Park United Methodist Church is breaking through the wall that seems to keep visitors out.
As Dr. Bill Wash, pastor of the church, explained, "We want to let the community know they are invited. ... It's one thing to have a worship service. It's another to reach out and let people know they are invited to come."
