Illness healed
One morning I woke feeling weak and ill. Immediately I began praying. "The scientific statement of being" from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy quickly came to thought. This powerful declaration of truth begins: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all" (p. 468). This reminded me that because infinite Mind, God, is supreme and governs all, including me, illness has no power. Symptoms of sickness, because they are the false testimony of a belief of life and intelligence in matter, are untrue. God is my Life, and God is good.
I then decided to ring a Christian Science practitioner and request prayerful treatment. She agreed to pray for me, and spoke to me of God's love and how I was cared for and protected by Him. This calmed my thought, and I was able to continue to pray for myself as well. As I did so, I realized that I had become upset the previous day over a discussion with some relatives about the subject of immunisation.
