A growing number of people in Great Britain—including the wife of the Prime Minister and several major athletes—are turning to faith healers. Reports say that when stories about faith healing, particularly those involving celebrities, are published, healing organizations are overwhelmed with telephone calls for information.

According to estimates from the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, the nation's ten thousand healers receive about two and a half million visits per hear.

"It's difficult to find anyone who hasn't been to a healer or doesn't know someone who has. ... [People] are starting to say 'something is going on here'. ... But there have always been healers here doing good work quietly," commented Dr. Craig Brown, who is president of the federation, in a Times (London) report. Dr. Brown himself employs a healer in his surgery.
