Q A

Q How do you practice baptism or holy communion?

A Christian Scientists acknowledge and love these traditional Christian sacraments, but they do not practice them with outward symbols or ceremony. Baptism means the daily, ongoing purification of thought and deed. Eucharist is spiritual communion with God, celebrated with silent prayer and Christian living.

Q What activities does your Church provide for young people?

A Every Church of Christ, Scientist, has a Sunday School, where children and young people up to age twenty learn how to apply the teachings of the Bible and Science and Health in their daily lives. On many college and university campuses in the United States and abroad, Christian Science organizations help provide spiritual answers to anyone facing the challenges of campus life.

Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, established the Church of Christ, Scientist, "... to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."
