What true friends can do

Friends don't want friends to feel left out of God's love.

Who of us has been entirely free of bad habits, of wrong choices? My conduct before learning more about God was at times less than wise or less than spiritually strong.

Perhaps in a moment of desperate need, many of us have been helped by a friend who pointed out a fault and helped us correct it. The true friend has encouraged us to feel God's touch, His healing love. And we have been healed, redeemed, transformed.

True friends can point out that the path we're on is a rocky one, destined for stumbles and pitfalls. They help by trying to lift us up before we fall down. Of course, we may not always listen or welcome assistance. Yet we are still helped by another's effort, for this love is valuable and can ultimately have a profound effect.
