Understanding God's love heals illness and benefits career

Many of the healings I've had through the practice of Christian Science have been quick, as when I was instantly healed of a severe sore throat.

In Science and Health we read: "Obedience to material law prevents full obedience to spiritual law,—the law which overcomes material conditions and puts matter under the feet of Mind" (p. 182). I examined my thought to see what was not in accord with the spiritual law. This uncovered an animosity toward the leader of another country. When I replaced this outlaw attitude with genuine respect for the individual's spiritual identity as a child of God, I was at once freed of suffering. Viewing the other person from a spiritual basis did not mean mini mizing or disregarding destructive acts associated with his government; rather, it was a way of affirming the true authority of God's government. This experience helped me see that understanding man's God-given spiritual nature supports international understanding and cooperation.
