Christian healing eliminates severe pain

One night as I was preparing to go to work, I experienced pain and uneasiness in my stomach and lower back area on both sides. I could hardly stand or lie down. I immediately said the Lord's Prayer and brought my thought to the fact that God is perfect and His image, man, is perfect. I thought about the unreality of pain because it is not a part of God's man.

But this thought didn't seem to affect the situation, and my prayer seemed doubting and shaky as the pain increased. I kept calm with hope, as Science and Health urges: "... the Christian Scientist will be calm in the presence of both sin and disease, knowing, as he does, that Life is God and God is All" (p. 366).

At this point, I called a Christian Science practitioner to treat me through prayer and to help me stabilize my thought. She assured me that God is divine Principle, and His truth is all there is; that man and the universe reflect His spiritual law always; and that I should try to understand the infinity of God, divine Mind.
