To Our Readers

This year, 1998, marks a century of continuous publication of the Christian Science Sentinel, established by Mary Baker Eddy "to hold guard over Truth, Life, and Love."

We feel that for any publishing house to have put out a magazine each week for one hundred years is an accomplishment worth noting. Yet to have produced a magazine that has offered readers a new way of thinking—a spiritual perspective—about their world and has also brought spiritual healing to their lives is more than noteworthy. We feel that it is actually evidence of God's love and care—touching the lives of thousands of people the world over.

So, we're especially happy to welcome you this week to the inaugural issue of a completely redesigned Sentinel. You'll want to turn to Russ Gerber's editorial on page 28 for additional background on the new Sentinel, its features, departments, and ongoing purpose.

Enjoy 1 free Sentinel article or audio program each month, including content from 1898 to today.
