Who, me? Couldn't be!
The Bible tells us that as someone "thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Prov. 23:7). When this remarkable truth came alive to me, I was sick in bed. For many years the doctors had told me that maybe after a long time of treatments, there would be a chance for me to live more actively. They had lovingly tried to help me, but my illness continued.
A Christian Scientist had given me a copy of Science and Health and said, "Take this book and read it."
The first line in the book caught my attention: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (p. vii). I realized that, although I believed in God, I had not been leaning on Him, but on material means, for help. As my thought changed to God as my Physician, I was healed instantly.
Each day I am learning how better to guard each thought. Love must be the goal. God is Love. As we are living God's law of Love, we bless all those around us and people everywhere.
