The fruits of the Spirit
Serving God
and man
does not wear us down or out,
But builds us up
like Nehemiah's wall;
Strengthens us
like Jacob's angels;
Feeds us with manna
like the children of Israel;
Opens our eyes to the multitude "that be with us"
like Elisha;
Rouses us to turn serpents into staffs
like Moses;
And gives us blessed, blessed peace
like Jesus on Easter morn.
