"Magic Mirror, on the Wall"
In the last few months, magazines and television talk shows have given significant coverage to the quest for beauty through cosmetic surgery and various other techniques. In the past, the emphasis on good looks focused primarily on women, but men are also being targeted by beauty merchants. Quite apart from any risks or benefits of the beautification methods being promoted, many people yearn to express the beauty that dwells within and that can transform their appearance and their lives.
As we pondered this subject, we found that several writers, including one in the "Questions & Answers Exchange," had also chosen to explore inner beauty. What they have to say points toward a beauty that is more permanent—and more real—than the one that relies on youth, or on surgery.
