Christian Science has once again shown me God's healing...

Christian Science has once again shown me God's healing power. I tripped over an electrical cord and fell down hard on my right arm, injuring my wrist, arm, and shoulder. I affirmed I was not hurt, denying the mortal belief of accident and replacing it with the truth of man as spiritual, not material. My husband came in to help me and put me on the bed. I immediately telephoned to ask a dedicated Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. I lay on the bed and continued to pray with truths I had learned through many years of study and practice of Christian Science teachings.

This verse from Second Timothy came to mind: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (1:7). Even though my arm seemed useless, I knew I had a sound mind and a conviction of the truth that heals. This released me from fear and set me free to overcome this problem. During the first week or so, listening to cassette tapes of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and of Mary Baker Eddy's other books gave me strength and courage.

I studied the chapter "Christian Science Practice" in Science and Health daily, and I held fast especially to these statements: "Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered. Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew" (p. 425).
