Teach me what I need

Father, I ask not to retrace the paths
Of places I have been;
I look not to tomorrow
For more truth than is here today,
Nor for direction to
Avoid the rugged way.

I ask for Your lessons
To teach me what I need,
And to go rejoicing
Wherever You may lead.
