A very special book

Michel Poitras and his wife Henriette own a general store just outside Montreal, Canada. Over the past year they have sold more than one hundred copies of the French translation of Science and Health. We talked with Mr. Poitras about his love of the book, and about his delight in sharing it with customers.

"It can be a little daunting," he says, "when you read Science and Health for the first time, so my wife and I try to establish where customers are in their spiritual journey, and then take them step by step toward the book we have prominently displayed on our shelves.

"Before she became a Christian Scientist, my wife Henriette was a naturopath, so many of the people who come in looking for a quick 'fix' to problems of one kind or another expect her to recommend special diets, herbs, or vitamins. They don't realize," he said, "how far we have traveled from those so called 'natural' healing processes toward divine healing and regeneration. And it was Science and Health that did it!"
