I was introduced to Christian Science by my husband, in the small town of Nanyuki, Kenya. He was a man I had greatly admired from afar, not only for his gentle ways but also for his inspired understanding of God. He would periodically gather a handful of men and women who were conversant in English and try to impart to us the great works and teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, and their applications in our own daily lives—to health, home, and finance.

In my search for better understanding into this new realm of thought, I grew closer to this man. He was generally quiet, but charged with so much energy and enthusiasm on the subject of Christian Science. He believed and practiced it. I saw an emphasis placed on the importance of prayer, not as we knew it, but in a different form that at once showed that we are united to God.

I became convinced that Christian Science is demonstrable truth in my endeavor to understand more of Mrs. Eddy's teachings. Through our talks, this young man and I formed a close bond, which culminated in marriage. In this union I have found much happiness.
