FROM HAND TO HAND

The Sentinel is meant to be shared. In a world that is increasingly hungry for spiritual meaning, the Sentinel provides vital nourishment. Here's how one of our readers shared it.Let us know of your experience in sharing the Sentinel .

One of the women in my dance class expressed deep concern and frustration about her physical appearance—she had recently gained some unwanted pounds. At home that day, I remembered seeing several Sentinels that had articles which discussed the benefits of holding thought to God's image, not body image.

Several weeks later, I brought the Sentinels to dance class, and afterward my friend and I spoke privately. She confided that over the years she had tried countless types of weight-control systems, including diets and behavior modification. Each method would work for a year or so, but then she would fall back to old ways. At this latest low point, she had again decided to take charge of her life and "do something," but she didn't know what to do. We talked about gaining a higher concept of ourselves as spiritual ideas of God—thereby bringing spiritual transformation and healing. She eagerly took the two Sentinels I offered and thanked me for coming to her at the perfect time. As we parted, she joyfully said, "Perhaps this is the new approach that might really work!"
