About ten years ago I developed facial growths
About ten years ago I developed facial growths. I was often ashamed and embarrassed not to be able to heal these quickly through prayer. Others would sometimes observe and diagnose; comments were also offered on possible medical treatment. I never did consider medical help; my reliance remained on God and an understanding of Him, learned through study of Christian Science.
Discouragement would sometimes set in, but I kept studying and praying, sometimes alone and sometimes with the help of a practitioner—always knowing that all things are possible to God. And I found my peace.
In those years in which I was praying about this problem, I learned that one of the worst things we can do to ourselves is to react to error. At one time a practitioner wrote to me that we must learn to maintain a serenity that is based on our consciousness of God and our assurance of His allness and harmony.
