I was introduced to Christian Science about fifteen years ago...
I was introduced to Christian Science about fifteen years ago by my older sister who, some years prior, had had an instantaneous healing of migraine headaches after attending a Christian Science church service for the first time. I had always been impressed that my sister often experienced healing just by reading the Bible and Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy.
As a child I was delicate and sickly. I had had rheumatic fever at a very young age, and the toes of my feet became deformed; instead of walking on the entire foot, I could walk only on the balls of my feet. I could never get shoes to fit me properly, and it was always painful to walk at all. I also contracted one skin condition after the other, and the various medications prescribed brought only complicating reactions and no cure.
When I first started to read Science and Health, I found it hard to understand. I persisted nonetheless, reading and rereading small portions at a time until I felt they were clear to me. On reading "the scientific statement of being" I realized that God fills all space, and that there is no room for any other cause.
