Unforeseen events and spiritual discovery
Most of us find ourselves on a journey of discovery at one time or another. Sometimes it can seem as if the journey is very lonely. Unforeseen events and circumstances may even appear to force us mercilessly onto an unknown path. But Christian Science teaches that divine deliverance is always at hand.
Through the study of Science, we learn that Biblical "miracles" were not unique to the early Christian era but were based upon an eternal, divine Principle that can still be called upon. It is our task, as spiritual explorers, to learn of this Principle and put our understanding of it into practice. As we do so, we find clear direction and deliverance. This isn't miraculous. It's the natural result of our growing understanding and consistent practice of the rules laid out for us in our vital guidebook—the Bible. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy unlocks the Bible's practical instructions.
Mrs. Eddy once wrote, "We live in an age of Love's divine adventure to be All-in-all" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 158). What a liberating thought! Beyond the notion that we are displaced persons seeking an unknown niche, is the reality of divine Love's omnipresence and perfect government. And it's the irresistible divine impulsion of Love itself that launches us on the path of spiritual discovery. Sooner or later we are all led to discover God as the All-in-all of existence.
