Conquering fear
Many of us have probably known moments of great fear when attempts at rational reasoning seemed useless.
This is how it was for me when for approximately a year I suffered from a fear of flying on airplanes. I would start churning inside weeks before a scheduled flight, and it would only get worse as the date approached. By the time the plane was taking off, my shirt would be saturated with perspiration, and I was wishing that somebody would knock me out and that I'd regain consciousness only after the plane had landed at its destination!
It appears there are so many things that can make us afraid. Actually, though, it is not "things" that create fear, but the belief in a power other than God. Yet the Bible explains that God is infinite, all-powerful, and ever-present Love. So whether or not circumstances make fear appear legitimate, the fact remains that fear is always a false perception of the nature of God and His creation.
