The dance of Spirit
The dance of Spirit—lovely, sweet—
Moves not in mortal mind
Where cautious step would stop
and start
In narrow thought confined.
For Spirit's dance, all flowing free,
So beautifully defies
The earthly pas de deux which mocks
Eternal improvise
And Love's supernal rhythm wraps
Each one in true embrace,
Claiming past as no one's partner—
Perfect presence is our place.
And with each crescendo, rising,
We awake to Spirit's call:
To live, and move, and dance where
It's impossible to fall.
