Return to glory
Where am I? There is no glory here!
How did I get here, where there is fear and darkness?
No fear was there, nor burden, nor alarm—
Just peace and harmony. No harm could come to me.
But here—where am I? Where?
What strident sounds I hear; no music of the spheres.
Where is the peace I used to know? The tender love?
What happened that I left my home
To roam I know not where?
You say to find the peace I must go back?
Go back in thought to that bright safety of God's love
Where Christ is light and I the shining?
You say no mortal dream can hold me or keep me here?
I can return to find the glory that I had with God
Before the world was? Just know the truth of being?
Dear Father-Mother, precious Love and Life,
Erase these hectic dreams that frighten me, show me the way
To my happy preexistence in Thy boundless sweet embrace—
Father-Mother, hold me close and help me find
That I never truly left Thee or lost the glory
That I had with Thee before the world.
