George Bernard Shaw once said that a perpetual holiday is a good working definition of hell. Although taking a never-ending vacation sounds tempting when life is hectic, tedious, or exhausting, many people find nonstop idleness wearisome.
"Let me give it a try," someone is probably saying! Of course, a balance of rest with work is appropriate and undoubtedly contributes to productivity. Yet, how best can you secure the fresh perspective and the "second wind" that true renewal affords?
If lying for weeks on a beach chair can't do it, what can? Have you ever experienced the wonderful joy, satisfaction—and burst of energy—after a job well done? The work may have been strenuous and required tremendous tenacity, but for some reason, you feel freshened. ...
But even this pales beside the refreshment that Spirit, God, brings—as we hope you'll find as you read through this issue.
