I am deeply grateful for the many healings I have had through the practice of Christian Science. They have resulted in much growth in spiritual understanding.
A number of years ago, one evening after eating seafood, I became seriously ill. With the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner and the steady support of my wife, the aggressive condition yielded to prayer. Several years later however, I again ate seafood and soon after began to have symptoms of a reaction. I prayed to God with all my heart.
As I prayed I remembered Moses' words to the children of Israel when he led them out of bondage in Egypt: "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day" (Exodus). I realized that God is eternal, and He is with us as much now as He was some thirty-four hundred years ago when His protecting power parted the Red Sea and saved the Israelites from the Egyptians.
