Forgiving Frisco
One night after dinner, Doug was in the kitchen when his mom was giving their dogs Frisco and Trevor some beef scraps. Suddenly the big golden retrievers began to fight over the food. There was a lot of snarling—and teeth seemed to be snapping in every direction.
For a second Doug and his mom didn't know what to do—it was a little scary! Frisco and Trevor had always been gentle dogs and never fought. Doug and his mom started to break up the fight.
Mom grabbed for Frisco and Doug grabbed Trevor. But before Mom could get a good grip on Frisco, he lunged at Trevor as Doug was pulling him back. Frisco accidentally bit Doug across his bare knee.
