New appointment

The Christian Science Board Of Directors

We are pleased to announce that in accordance with Article I, Section 5, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, The Christian Science Board of Directors has elected Olga M. Chaffee, C.S.B., to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Ruth Elizabeth Jenks, C.S.B. The appointment was effective August 1, 1990.

With our continuing affection and deepest gratitude for her work for this Church, we have accepted Betty's request to retire from the Board of Directors. She will continue her healing and teaching activities. We have all been blessed and benefited through working with her. Her steadfastness, humor, and keen insights have given wings to the forward steps taken during her years of service. She has the warmest appreciation of her colleagues for her unwavering support during these years of change and progress.

Mrs. Jenks has served the movement as Manager of the Department of Practitioners and Nursing Activities, member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, and as Clerk of The Mother Church.
