Christian Science came to the attention of my mother when she observed a quick healing of a neighbor and asked how it had come about. The neighbor smiled and said, "Come over to the Christian Science church and find out." This my mother did and found answers to questions and solutions to problems she had had. I was enrolled in the church's Sunday School. Thus, for me, began years of spiritual growth, progress, and unfoldment.

My first healing as a boy was that of abscessed ears. This healing came about with the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner. The healing was complete, and it marked an early milestone of progress in my family's trust in God.

I am grateful for all the healings we've had in our family. One experience stands out. Our college-age daughter woke one morning unable to stand or walk. We asked a Christian Science practitioner to help us pray for her, and when the difficulty did not immediately yield, we obtained the services of a Christian Science nurse to help with our daughter's care.
